Local High Tech Business Creates Jobs and Brings Young People to the Mohawk Valley
Little Falls, New York, May 16, 2011: “Growth” is the buzzword around the office at Lecky Integration this year. Located in the iconic Stone Mill in Little Falls, the business (which launched in October 2009) has recently won several large new contracts in the transportation, manufacturing, and law enforcement industries. These contracts have the potential for millions of dollars in revenue on lucrative licensing arrangements. This necessitated hiring two skilled developers who could complement the existing team. Company owner and Princeton graduate (class of 1984), Ned Lecky, PhD, finds that this growth allows him to bring more young, well-educated professionals to the Mohawk Valley. “I started my business here in Little Falls hoping contribute to the great energy I found here,” he says. “These developers are dynamic people who are excited to find challenging work, especially in a beautiful location with an affordable cost of living. I’m confident in this team’s ability to contribute not only to our company and customers, but to the Mohawk Valley community as a whole.” The rapid expansion in staff was matched by an expansion in sales, and the company has doubled in size since the start of the new year.
Recent hires include:
- Josh Johnson, a graduate of William and Mary with a degree in Computer Science and a graduate of Full Sail University, also with his Bachelor’s in Game Development.
- Dustin Holtz, a graduate of Full Sail University, with a Bachelor’s degree in Game Development
Holtz is already discovering the charms of the Mohawk Valley. “I could never see myself living in a small town”, he said. “But as I spend more time here, I discover what this community really has to offer. I’m enjoying the wonderful scenery and friendly people”.
Holtz and Johnson join Keith Morgado, also a software developer, and Michael Vittiglio, who was recently promoted to Manager of Software Development in order to help effectively manage company growth and client deliverables. In his new role, Vittiglio (who has been with Lecky Integration for 5 months) keeps the rest of the Development Team organized, helping Lecky create high-speed, image-processing software used in inspection, automation, and security applications. “We are all surprised to find we can work in cutting-edge product development, in such an exciting field, and yet live in a beautiful, charming community,” Vittiglio says.
Morgado, who has been with Lecky Integration for about a year, agrees. “The energy in the office is so positive. You can tell that we are all passionate about what we do, and being here is important to us”.
Adds Lecky, “Small businesses need to realize that locating in small towns can give them great advantages in hiring. People are happy to relocate for the right opportunity and a great community.”
